dang it! ruined my charity art...

I planned to have my charity art up today for a 50% donation for Haiti relief and what happened? I ruined it at the last minute--beyond repair. So I'm working on another piece...since I've delayed this effort, I am going to donate 100% of this next piece--jeez, if I can get it done! Grrrrrr!!!! I am so aggravated! Well, we must go on, yes? Yes.

Helping poor little Prince Babe get to rescue...

I'll be helping this poor little urchin get to rescue next week. His name is PRINCE BABE, an approximately 5-year old Chihuahua that was found in a box near an apartment complex. Here is what the foster mom wrote about Babe:

As you can see he is quite pitiful. However, he looks tremendously better than when I got him on 1/4/10. When they first saw him at Whitfield Animal Hospital on 12/30/09, he weighed 4 lbs. He now is 5 lbs. and 11 ounces. He has also had several medicated baths which help with the peeling skin - a by-product of bad nutrition and a bacterial infection. He is taking antibiotics, prednisone, and soloxine. The first few days I had him, he just slept. I woke him up to eat after which he would go potty (he uses puppy pads.) I didn't think that was healthy so I took him to Dalton Animal Care where they put him on the medications and advised the medicated baths. They also clipped his nails, cleaned his ears, etc. It didn't take but a day on the meds before he actually became alive. He still doesn't play - don't think he knows how, but he does get up and roam around the house and eats like a horse. He also loves to be held and petted.

Such a sad little guy. I hope after our "transport train" gets him to his destination that he will be loved and cherished, instead of abandoned in a box suffering from disease and malnutrition. I don't understand this behavior.

believe it or not...

I've returned to my art. I find I return to it when I need to "return to center." It's been a tough year with my mom being diagnosed with cancer (she's done well), me getting laid off, and the loss of three of my older kitties. I can't tell you how much I miss them. So, I am trying to get all my sites and links and such organized so I can start regularly posting my art again. Please be patient, I am really here and will be posting some more information very soon (and hopefully regularly).

Sheesh, time flies...

Here it is nearly a 1 1/2 years later...I got out of school and began a career in clinical social work and it's taken me this long to regain my bearings. What a huge change. I hope to get back to my art this year and get more balance back in my life. I really miss the studio!!!

Three Little Mourners

Up on Ebay until next Monday...

I painted this a few months ago when the first anniversary of my father's passing was coming up. I think I can let it go now. I don't know if anyone wants a little painting with such a sad theme, but, there you go...

Little Emily

Little Emily needs some whiskers, but after that she'll be strutting her stuff on Ebay tonight. Meow! She's up now!

She's a little 4 x 4 in. acrylic painting. The sides are 3/4 in deep and are painted, so no frame needed. :-)

The Garbage Men Cometh!

This is a 10 x 20 acrylic painting called "The Garbage Men Cometh!" I am gathering up paintings for a show in November and this one will be on display at our local paper as a preview to the show. I'm pretty excited about being in a fine arts show.

I wish the picture was a little better, but I just varnished it this morning and they're picking it up this afternoon, so I didn't have much time for a proper photo session, per se.

I still hope to get a couple of things on Ebay in late August!

Once again, I lied...

but I didn't mean to. I had to study for a brutal (and I mean it really was brutal) mid-term over the weekend and didn't get around to posting my new stuff. Maybe I can get to it today (even though I'm working on the 4th). Bleh!

Stuff coming later this week...

I have actually nearly finished some small paintings that I am going to put up later this week on Ebay.

I'm not going to be posting any large paintings until November because I got into a show for which I need to build inventory. Once the show is over, I'll get back to posting larger paintings for sale. I'm also thinking about doing some ATCs and prints until November.

Hopefully this little dry spell will not come around again for a while!

you think I'm dead...

but I'm not.

Really. I have two new models at my house and they are quite the demanding sort.
Meet Pepper, the shepherd mix and Petey, the beagle.

I was accepted to a fine art show I didn't really expect to get into, so I'm happy about that. I do still hope to put stuff on Ebay this summer.

I've just been immersed in work, school and puppy training.

Stay tuned.

Goodbye to a sweet friend...

We had to say goodbye to our beloved Sadie yesterday afternoon (she had cancer-hemangiosarcoma). We are so very sad. At least she was able to pass peacefully--something for which I had prayed very hard. Our other dog, Pickles is just lost; eating exactly half of her food last night and not touching it this morning. She is searching everywhere for her buddy. We miss her so terribly.

I am working on paintings, but I can't seem to finish any of them. Eventually I will regain my bearings and have some up on Ebay.

I'm ba-a-a-a-a-ck! (sort of)

I'm still recovering from surgery, but I've been drawing some over the past few days and think I might be able to get some painting done now that I am not so sore (I had major abdominal surgery...blech).

Hope to see you on Ebay in the next few days! :-)
